Why 90% of Jeet Kune Do Practioners Have Missed the Boat
By Scott | November 2, 2009
Go deeper in the rabbit hole and don’t just stare at the blue pill.
If you want to get good at JKD, you gotta take the red pill.
It’s true. Most JKD guys swim around the surface of JKD. They get the phenomenal fighting skills, they drill down the attributes, and to be honest, several of these highly trained fighters are nothing short of superheroes in a fight.
Guys like Ron Balicki, Paul Vunak, Dan Inosanto and more. But, you have to dig deeper and let Jeet Kune Do infest in you before you have a true understanding of what Jeet Kune Do is all about.
After people leave the gym, they leave their Jeet Kune Do in the gym. Big mistake. When you apply Jeet Kune Do to your lifestyle, you become something else. You become different. You think different. You act different, and you become nothing short of a high achiever.
“Absorb what is useful, reject the useless, and add what is specifically your own.” Is the best Bruce Lee quote ever, and there’s so much magic in these simple words that most people skip over it.
With these simple words you can get the mind of Jason Bourne, and the most of the same skills. You can become just as sharp mentally as Bruce Wayne. You can become just about anyone you want to be… If you find the right training and you find the right teacher.
You want wealth to practice your art and live as you want to? You’d do well to listen to Bruce and do what he says, “Absorb what is useful, reject t the useless, and add what is specifically your own.”
You want to lose weight and become a kick butt fighter? Listen to Bruce.
Any subject you need to solve can be solved by these mysterious and enigmatic words of Bruce Lee.
“Absorb what is useful, reject the useless, and add what is specifically your own.”
I told my good friend, Tony Thach that most practioners are missing the boat on JKD, and it’s true. If you wanna get on the boat, keep on listening, this is only the beginning.
