Spin kicks are a great addition to any fighter’s arsenal. However, there are certain types of fighters that are more susceptible to receiving damage from spin kicks. We are going to look in depth at these types of people. If you effectively train your spin kicks, you have a higher chance of taking them down with a spin kick. This might be one of the easiest wins a fighter can have when they understand when and how to effectively throw a spin kick.
The first type of fighter that this technique works against is someone who is untrained in the art of spin kicking. These people have not seen enough kicks to pick up the line when thrown at them. They are susceptible to kicks to the face and body. These are also the type of people who can have a spin kick thrown at them from beat one without them blocking it or evading it. This is instead of waiting to establish your other offensive weapons. You have a great shot at hitting the spin kick and causing enough damage to end the fight. If you realize you have someone who has not seen a lot of spin kicks in fights or sparring, then you push the issue by throwing it at them.
Another fighter who is very easily hit with a spin kick is someone who stalks his or her prey. These people tend to try to stay in the “pocket” and trade bombs with their opponents until someone goes down. What they lack in technical skill, they make up in power. However, this is usually a bad thing because they are open to counter shots and other offensive strategies that do not involve trading blows. They stubbornly look for this and it costs them. These people are primed and ready to take good spin kicks to the body and head.
There are three types of defense and one that is very easy to hit with a good spin kick. These are the type of people who use head movement as their primary defensive strategy; a notable person who uses this primary defensive style is Floyd Mayweather. This is great for boxing but bad for street or MMA fighting. Especially when you have a spin kick. Although they may move their head from a spin kick, they rarely ever move their body from a spin kick. Aiming for the body against a head movement fighter is a good way to do some damage.
Those are three fighters are that known to have trouble against a spin kick. The trick is to recognize these people and use your spin kick to take them down. You will have to in the fight before you figure how to best take this fighter down. However, once you have the style, you can win the fight with a good spin kick. It is a matter of being patient and recognizing the patterns that they are using. The right timing and the right technique will make all the difference in the fight.
