What does Jane Fonda know about submission wrestling?

What does Jane Fonda know about submission wrestling?

A whole lot if you’re educated about submission wrestling.

Why?

It is because all most all most the major submission wrestling holds occur from a position Jane Fonda regularly showed as a glute exercise.

Endurance here would give you a decided advantage on anyone who does not regularly practice the movement.

There is research that clearly states that a body gets good at what stress you put it under.

This phenomenon is called homeostasis.

So… Why wouldn’t you use science to your advantage?

Submissions that require strong and sometimes endurance to complete

Arm bar
Knee bar
Achilles lock

Submissions that are assisted or could be helped by good lower back/glute strength

Guillotine
Rear naked choke
Double wrist lock
Triangle body lock
Guard vice
Can opener
Cranium crush

Escapes
Shrimping
Reverse shrimping
Hip bump
Hip pop
Umpa

Throws
Power bomb
Russian leg sweep
Northern lights suplex
Back trip

So as I’ve already stated, the exercise you should be doing is a glute/lower back exercise.

My favorite is one that was taught to me by Frank Shamrock.

Glute bridges or glute blasters as I call them.

They will develop the kind of muscular endurance you will need to complete your submissions and your escapes.
