The Absolute Worst Way to Train

by Scott

The absolute worst way to train is to go all out against your sparring partner. This is because both of you will get hurt. When both of you are hurt, neither one of you can train. Therefore, even though many people think that attacking their partner with full power is a smart thing. It rarely ever is. This is a good way for you to lose training partners and to lose your IQ quickly. The problem with this method is that you lose your IQ quickly and also you do not realize that you are becoming dumber because of all the punches you have taken.

Although people love the feeling of being hit and hitting back. It is not good for you. There are numerous studies that show that it actually injures the brain and makes it less effective. There many people who believe that Mohammed Ali lost his ability to function because of the numerous injuries he took to his face and his brain. Even though this cannot be proved or disproved and at this moment, it is highly likely. If you are in MMA fighter, then you only have a short period of time to make money. You do not want to waste your ever-precious chin on training.

Most fight analysts think of chin as an attribute that stays with the fighter forever. However, most fighters need to look at chin as a quality that diminishes every time they are hit. The harder they are hit the less number of punches they can take before a knockout occurs. Taking a large number of knockouts will affect a fighter permanently. There many studies going on to find out what the effect of these reoccurring pain injuries do to athletes. However, at this point, the research is incomplete. This does not mean that you should not try to protect your IQ at every stage. Although it is fun and exciting to get into a dogfight with fists and kicks it is not smart for you over the course of your lifetime.

The best way to deal with this is not to use sparring sessions as another fight. Another way you can diminish this effect is to develop good defensive habits. If you want to stay pretty, get girls, and keep your mind at the same time then you must do this. You must be smarter than the average MMA fighter who goes into a gym and tries the spar everyone at 100% of their strengt alll the time. Not only will you lose training partners but also you will have incomplete training because most coaches will not work with you. If you are not kicked out of the gym from the first go round you will be cut from the gym at some point. Then you will be left without a trainer and you will have to fend for yourself without the services of a trainer or sparring partner.

Do not go full bore with your training partners in training. Your chin is a diminishing asset that only grows smaller and smaller with each hit to the head that you take. You should treat your chin as if it is going to run out the next time you are hit. You can see in the UFC how many fighters have actually become lesser fighters because of the amount of damage they have taken over time. It happens to the best of them. So either develop great defense or do not spar 100% in any sparring session.
