Rashad Evans vs. Chuck Liddell

by Scott on September 8, 2008

What happened?

It’s easy

Range control

If you go back and watch the fight

You will see excellent control of distance by Evans

Liddell needs a specific range to bomb his opponent with his vicious right hand

That range is punching range

But Evans never allowed Liddell to stay in that range

He effectively established his jab in round one

And his hooks (lead front hand hook) also

Effectively establishing st foom (dog brothers term for stay the f of off me)

Added with occasional kicks

Liddell was careful not to take to many hits before closing in for his bomb

Liddell kept trying to solve Evans’ st foom structure and rushed into the jab, overhand, and hook (that hook

didn’t land, by the way, because he was already finished)

Establishing good range control is paramount in fights

And you should always seek to establish it in a fight
