Jason “Mayhem” Miller’s Bully Beatdown, and What It Teaches You
by Scott Buendia
Jason "Mayhem" Miller, host of Bully Beatdown
I grew up as a small kid in home life and at school. Of course this attracted a lot of attention from bullies. I looked like an easy mark, and my brothers knew I was an easy mark (because they conditioned me to be one for awhile). I was shy, introverted, and definitely not good with girls. I probably couldnt have fought my way out of a paper bag. So when you look like a target for bullies, guess what, you are a target for bullies, so growing up, I had a deep understanding of what it meant to be a victim.
Yep, it's a nerd
Thats why I love Bully Beatdown so much; the first episode I saw was a brother who was picking on his littler brother all the time. So the little brother did what any little brother would do, he called Jason Mayhem Miller, and got Bully Beatdown to offer 10 Gs to his brother (the bully) to fight a professional MMA fighter. And the bully, full of ego, as they are most times, accepted foolishly. In the end he only walked away with $2,000 dollars, because he was submitted 3x and knocked out in the 2nd round (for 5,000).
What can you learn from Bully Beatdown?
Thats a great question, and heres what you can learn from Bully Beatdown. 1. A little training goes a long way, Michael Westbrook actually didnt do anything too technically advanced in either round, because he didnt have to. The bully was over matched, and Westbrook only pulled a sweet omaplata to a crufix (thats advanced) once. He was fairly nice to him the rest of the fight (well, not nice, but not as bad as he could of hurt him, he did TKO him viciously in the 2nd when he smelled a knockout though). So against your basic bully, you arent going to need much training, unless the size difference is great, and Royce Gracie proved in the first UFCs that if the bully doesn’t understand your game and he’s bigger than you, and you can drag him to the ground, then he is going down. So get a ground game ad get your hands up to par (at least learn something).

In the 2nd episode (at least the 2nd one I saw). Our hated bully meets his MMA Pro fighter and it is ex NFL player Michael Westbrook and he looks worried and scared. Now, we all can’t have the size and intimidating muscles of Michael Westbrook, but what you can do is let people know that you know people like him. The best way to do this is to wear your shirt of your gym, this is all the better made by actually listing what you train in on the shirt if it doesn’t already list it. Not only will they be intimidated by what you might know (because bullies want easy fights not ones they could probably lose face in) but who you might know. That might be the ultimate deterrent to bullies.
What can you learn from Bully Beatdown?
A whole lot and you’ll get hidden tips from it about how to fight and how to win fights before they begin. Remember to: wear your school affiliation shirt, and to actually learn something. Youll be physically fitter, have more self confidence, and youll actually be able to put down a bully if you have to.
