Hillsboro Marital Arts Expert Reveals How to quickly learn Jeet Kune Do

by Scott on October 28, 2008

Pick a technique from Jeet Kune Do and spar with it a very controlled environment
There’s a big problem with the way MMA sparring is done at the moment, and that’s that it is too hard all the time
It’s good to go hard sometimes
But not all the time
My teacher, Paul Vunak, isolates techniques out of situations and then builds them up slowly
For instance, one person will work their Thai kick
The other will work their jab
What’s the Thai kicker learning to do?
Use his Thai kick against a good fast jab
What’s the jabber learning?
When, how, and why to jab against a Thai kicker.
Let’s say, I want to use a technique I learned from Sifu Ron Balicki last weekend

So I’ll take his knee against the cross.
I’ll just have my opponent work his cross against me.
Then I’ll work my knee.
Then I’ll have him do both a jab and a cross.
So I’m isolating my way up the chain.
Will I effectively learn how to use my knee against a cross?
Yes.
And will I get injured trying it in the process?
No, because I’m controlling the factors.
That’s what my Hillsboro martial arts school teaches, effective martial arts in a safe, controlled manner.
We have more drills we use and the best thing to do to learn more about it, is to fill out the information below and take advantage of our free introductory offer.
You won’t regret it.
